Rental Catalog Search Tips

  • There are currently three different ways to search the rental catalog. Use the search catalog box on the left side of this page:

    search by genre
    1. Select one of 18 genres from the search by genre dropdown menu. There are currently 18 genres available to search. Scroll the list until you find the genre you would like to view, and click name - once you click, the search will begin and every title available for rent in that genre will begin to fill the center of the screen.

    search title keyword
    1. Click in the search title keyword input box, type the word(s) you would like to search for, and press the enter button on your keyboard to begin. The center of the page will begin to fill with the results, and the results will contain all titles in the rental catalog that have the word you typed in.
    • Typing house into the title keyword search will yield any title with the sequence of
h-o-u-s-e (i.e.: house on haunted hill, last house on the left).
    • When conducting a title search, be sure to use apostrophes in titles like 12 o'clock high. A search for oclock without the apostrophe will yield no results. The apostrophe is the only punctutation mark used in the search engine - commas, periods, etc. are not accepted.
    • If you want to find a title containing doctor, type in dr followed by the space bar. Typing in dr without the space would not only include all titles with doctor in it, but also titles such as dragstrip and dracula.
    search by star
    1. Click in the search star input box, type the name(s) of the star, such as perkins or anthony perkins and press the enter button to begin the search. The search results will yield all titles in our rental catalog that contain that star and will list on the center of the page.
    • Only search one star at a time. Entering two stars,
(i.e.: joan crawford, telly savalas, or two words) will yield no results.
    • Typing wayne into the star search will yield any title containing wayne as one if its stars (i.e.: john wayne, michael wayne and wayne morris).
    • When conducting a star search, be sure to use apostrophes in names like o'toole. A search for otoole without the apostrophe will yield no results. The apostrophe is the only punctutation mark used in the search engine - commas, periods, etc. are not accepted.
  • Searches on the catalog are case insensitive. All of the data in our database is listed in uppercase letters; however, you can type in all lowercase and it will yield the same results
(i.e.: jack nicholson = JACK NICHOLSON, psycho = PSYCHO).

  • Once all of the titles have been returned from your search, you can use the PAGEUP and PAGEDOWN buttons for fast easy scrolling.

  • To exit the rental catalog area, click the HOME BUTTON on the left. To return to this page while searching the catalog, click SEARCH CATALOG at the top of the box on the left side of the page.
